Virtual School Contract

Florence Adult Education Contract for Virtual School Courses

As a student enrolled in the South Carolina Virtual School Program (SCVSP) through Florence Adult Education, I commit myself to the following guidelines:

I understand that I must have access to a computer with an Internet connection, and that expenses related to the course (computer access, Internet fees, paper, printing, etc.) are my responsibility

I understand that I must commit at least 12 online hours per week per course and that my work and performance will be monitored by my instructor each week

I will check my e-mail daily for correspondence from my instructor and will contact my instructor immediately if I have questions.

I understand lessons must be completed at least weekly.  I will check the pacing chart at the start of each week to determine which assignments need to be completed by the end of the week.

I will complete all assignments by the date determined by the instructor.

I understand that the courses must be completed no later than ________________________________

I understand that all assessments (unit tests, final exam, End of Course, etc.) will be monitored by an Adult Education staff member at a designated site.  If I am enrolled in a SCVSP course in which an End of Course exam is required, I must take it as part of the course requirements.

I understand that I will be contacted when course work is one week overdue.  Students will be administratively dropped when course work is 3 weeks overdue and receive a grade of “Withdrawn” (W).

I understand that if I choose to drop a SCVSP course, I must notify Florence Adult Education’s Virtual School Coordinator.

I have read and understand Florence Adult Education Virtual School Program Contract.  Students who do not or cannot abide by the above listed rules may be removed from the course with penalties.
