Child care classes for four and five certification hours will be offered. 

We will offer Developing Relationships (2 Hours) and Feeding Children (3 Hours).

We plan to offer Reporting Child Abuse, Music Education, Emergency Preparations,    Communicating with Parents.

These classes are designed for high school seniors and their parents.  We help you prepare that all important application to get you into the school of your choice. We also go over everything you need to know about your financial aid application.

Work Keys

As part of the Career Readiness Initiative, we will be offering classes for WorkKeys Preparation and for ParaPro Credentials.  If you have taken the WorkKeys test and need to increase your score or would like to prepare before taking  the test, classes will be available this fall.

This one day workshop may be taken based on your needs.  Grant Writing 1 will be from 9:00am-12:00 noon.

Grant Writing II will be from 1:00pm-4:00pm. And Grant Writing I & II  will be from 9:00am-4:00pm.

This course gives one Carnegie unit.  It is taught in a well equipped lab at South Florence High.  Classes  will be offered based on student interest.  Students must register and prepay before classes begin.

Cost: $180.00   Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm   Classes will be taught on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

Braiding Certification

Braiding Certification

This class teaches safety and sanitation in the salon. Students will learn about infectious diseases, bacteria, and how to protect against those things.  Students will learn to use the correct antiseptics and disinfectants. 

These classes will be taught the second Monday of each month beginning October 13.  Class will begin at 8:00 am and conclude at 4:00pm.  The cost for the class is $125.00.  This fee includes registration and certification application.  Certification is from the LLR (Barber Board).  Students must be at least 16 to take the class.

These classes will last for six weeks.  Two weeks will be devoted to each of the three topics: resumes, job applications, and interviewing.  At the conclusion of the course, participants will have a hard copy of a resume and a hard copy of a sample cover letter for job applications.  Participants will also have this information on a disk or cd.

Classes will be taught twice weekly.  Sessions will be in the morning and in the evening to meet the students’ needs. 

Morning classes:  Monday and Wednesday       Time: 9:00 am-11:00 am 

Evening classes:  Tuesday and Thursday            Time:  6:00 pm-8:00 pm
